Chinese Pharmaceutical Association launching the statement on " Coronavirus 2019-nCoV Infection: Expert Consensus on Guidance and Prevention Strategies for hospital pharmacists and the pharmacy workforce (First Edition) "
Pneumonia caused by Coronavirus 2019-nCoV has been included in the National Infectious Diseases Class B management by National Health Commission of the PRC, and measures for the prevention and control of Class A infectious diseases have been adopted. Government attaches great importance to it, and medical institutions adopt a series of prevention and control measures in accordance with the law to jointly prevent and control the spread of pneumonia outbreaks due to Coronavirus 2019-nCoV infection.
In order to provide guidance to pharmacists and pharmacy workforce in hospital pharmacy departments in the prevention and control of Coronavirus 2019-nCoV outbreak, to further strengthen pharmaceutical and pharmacy services and security in the prevention and control of Coronavirus 2019-nCoV infection, CPA organized experts to write CORONAVIRUS 2019-nCoV INFECTION: Expert Consensus on Guidance and Prevention Strategies for hospital pharmacists and the pharmacy workforce (First Edition), according to the analyzed, judged and summarized information of the disease-related background, clinical manifestations and diagnosis preventive measures and management strategies, key medicines, facilities and equipment security, the management and use of medicines under special circumstances , and so on.
The launching of expert consensus will help better the pharmaceutical and pharmacy security for epidemic prevention, improve the quality of pharmaceutical and pharmacy services, promote the safe and rational use of medicines, better serve patients, enhance the self-protection awareness and ability of pharmacists and pharmacy workforce in hospitals, devoted healthier ways into the prevention and control of Coronavirus 2019-nCoV infections, and play an important and positive role of hospital pharmacy services in the prevention and control of Coronavirus 2019-nCoV infections.
